The job – Baseline
The diagnostic testing for Alzheimer’s disease is a new and growing market and the challenge for the PM AD will be to ensure that the products are designed and launched as an integrated solution for the routine lab. A good understanding of the needs of a routine In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) lab is therefore a must.
Besides a good bi-directional communication between the organisation at one side and the market (including affiliates / distributors /end user + other stakeholders) on the other side is needed in order to guarantee the profitability and sustainability of the sales.
The job – Accountabilities
Market and Sales Support:
Maintain communications with affiliates and partners to follow up local and global market info on competition and market trends in order to react pro-actively on market changes and different applications. This includes for example: Direct customer contact and B2B relation with Affiliates and/or OEM partner. Develop action plans using competitive information (customer and/or product specific), collect and analyse competitive product information.
Forecasting/Budget:
Provide necessary input to the forecast and the budget (on product and affiliate level) and analyse sales figures in order to contribute to the achievement of the defined sales targets. This includes for example: analyse sales data against budget, discuss stock levels and forecasting with Demand Management.
Product Launch:
Organise and follow-up launch of new products in order to strengthen market leadership by maximising market coverage, market penetration and market share. This includes for example: develop sales material and promotional tools (content responsibility), organise marketing/sales training for affiliates.
Product Development:
Assist in formulating project/product proposals in order to extend/update and introduce new businesses. This includes for example: define user requirements; design goals, perform market acceptance study, provide marketing info to prepare marketing plan.
Contacts / Market intelligence:
Ensure internal and external contacts in order to know the needs of customers / affiliates & distributes, to elaborate these needs, to create new business, contracts and to build up market intelligence. This includes for example: present products, promote products to customers (eventually in close collaboration with the Sales Manager), speak with opinion leaders.
Profil
• Bachelor or master education (scientific background such as biotechnology, biology, biochemistry)
• Significant exposure to customers in the past is needed: At least 5 years of experience in the field of customer support or sales
• Up-to-date knowledge of biotechnology
• Expert in marketing/customer support
• Knowledge of economics is a plus
• Good communications skills: orally and written
• Good knowledge of English is needed (other languages are a plus)
• Prepared to travel around 25% of the time
