You will do so in close cooperation with the KBC product lines (treasury services, payments, securities services, foreign trade, etc.) and based on a detailed marketing plan. As a relationship manager, you will play a coordinating role in this regard, mapping out KBC's overall relationship with the other party and attempting to create leverage based on the success of particular product domains. As a relationship manager, you will also be your client's central contact at KBC, and will be responsible for referring your client to the most suitable department. The purpose is to develop profitable long-term relationships with your clients. An essential factor in this connection is to find the right balance between risk and return, since in addition to your commercial role, you will also be responsible for proposing, managing and monitoring credit limits for financial institutions. You will be assigned substantial powers for directly approving commercial risks (in connection with foreign trade transactions). You will also be responsible for defining the strategy and the policy for the countries you are responsible for. Your role here will be to coordinate between the Corporate, Sovereign and Interbank Credit Directorate on the one hand and the relevant business units (foreign trade, money and capital markets, payments, project and structured trade finance and our foreign network) on the other. You will be assisted by an Account Manager (both for commercial duties and administrative tasks). Functionally coaching this Account Manager will be one of your responsibilities. Working on new markets/relations requires a time horizon of several years. Moreover, since continuity is an essential factor in relationship management, relationship managers must be capable of remaining in their positions for at least 5 years. This job requires several short trips to the countries in question every year. Place of work: Brussels.
