Job contextThe TIS project manager coordinates the
Flanders' Microfluidics and Microreactor Consortium, a Thematic Innovation Stimulation project sponsored by the IWT and Flemish industry.
Thematic Innovation Stimulation projects are aimed at a group of companies linked by a common theme. The aim of this specific project is to stimulate the use of the innovative technologies microfluidics and microreactors in the Flemish chemical and life science sector. By participating in this project, companies become more aware of the importance of innovation by acquiring additional knowledge and building a network of contacts, all of which is necessary to achieve specific innovations on a company level. To support these efforts optimally, FMMC cooperates with several similar European initiatives.
This project started on July 1st, 2010. At the moment, FMMC enjoys a strong member base and has already organized several successful activities. Foreign sister organizations and companies have now expressed an interest to see FMMC expand on an international level.
TasksThe foreseeable activities of the TIS project manager are:
- Building and sustaining the network (research institutes and companies) around the project theme through company visits, membership recruitment, etc…
- Identifying the industry's innovation needs and gaining insight in this industrial sector
- Transferring (internationally) available knowledge to members by a.o. organizing seminars/workshops and providing innovation supporting publications and presentations;
- Organizing network supporting activities on a Flemish and international level;
- Matching relevant partners (problem owners and problem solvers) in order to stimulate innovative R&D projects;
- Guiding companies during the project application for IWT/EU funding.
- Taking care of communication to all relevant project partners (essenscia, FlandersBio, VUB, IWT) through board meetings and reports
